Lodging

Although WordCamp Boston is focused on developing the local WordPress community, we appreciate that many attendees will be coming from greater New England, the US, and even internationally.

Finding hotel space in Boston in July can be a challenge. We’ve managed, however, to line up three housing options for WordCamp Boston attendees at various points in the pricing spectrum.

The Courtyard By Marriott, Brookline
The Courtyard in Brookline is a beautiful, newly renovated hotel in Coolidge Corner, one of my favorite Brookline neighborhoods (photos here). It’s about 2 miles from the Boston University George Sherman Union, or you can use the MBTA Green line. (Green line C inbound to Kenmore, switch to outbound B line, or just take the C line inbound to Hawes Street and walk half a mile – maps).

The Courtyard Marriott has both King bed rooms and Double Queen rooms at $199/night, plus applicable Taxes.

To book, call 1-866-296-2296, or go to www.marriott.com/bosbl and use these codes:

  • WCBWCBA – King Bed
  • WCBWCBB – 2 Queen Beds

Holiday Inn Boston – Brookline
The Holiday Inn Boston-Brookline (site) is about 1 mile from the conference venue, also in Brookline along the MBTA Green “C” Line, in a nice residential neighborhood, surrounded by brownstones and tree lined streets.

They’re offering WordCamp Boston attendees a courtesy rate of $169/night plus applicable taxes.

To book, call 617-277-1200 and tell them you’re attending WordCamp Boston.

Dorm Rooms at Boston University
Finally, pending availability, we can offer accommodations in the Boston University Student Residences at 10 Buick Street.

To reserve these rooms, we need to follow a bit of a complicated process:

  1. You’ll need to prepay for the number of rooms/nights you’d like, at $65/night, by June 16th. This is a commitment from you that you will take the room if it is available. This will be non-refundable, unless we’re unable to get the room(s) for you.
  2. On June 17th, we’ll put in a requisition for the rooms with the University. Only then will we really know what rooms are available, and will assign them to people who booked, in the order they booked.
  3. If it turns out that rooms are not available for all who prepaid, we will refund users who we cannot accommodate, but we will not be able to refund any other users for any other reason.

To book, email boston@wordcamp.org and let us know what nights you’d like to use. We’ll have you paypal the funds.
